Day 9 Monday the 30th September – Piccadilly – Fortnum and Masons

Day 9  Monday the 30th September – Piccadilly – Fortnum and Masons

We relaxed at the Mansions on the morning of the 30th September after two days on the road ending at Dover. Later we went into Piccadilly to Fortnum and Masons the Grand Department store. There were staff everywhere (unlike our own Department Stores) and the prices matched the Grandness of the store. However, I was able to buy some nice pieces of china  to take home as gifts. Brianna purchased some sparkly Jam which was confiscated at the Heathrow security (mentioned in a previous blog). The main reason we went to Fortnum’s was to celebrate (early) our 50th Wedding Anniversary due in December. Fiona had booked a table for High Tea for this very purpose.  Image

Our lovely Shannen in the picture for once with Caitlin agog at the model.

The staff at Fortnum and Mason would not allow us to take our own picture at the table in case we invaded someone’s privacy so we had to settle for this one taken by the waitress.

how silly they wouldnt let you take a photo. Isnt that two people in the background whose ‘privacy’ the waitress is now invading?
looks lovely and posh though, glad you got to celebrate here xx

  2. That’s what we thought too! But it was lovely bit out of my depth though.
