The other day I discovered that there is still a big problem in China, especially in the rural communities, with the infanticide of girl babies. Its hard to imagine in our enlightened era that this still happens. One thought led to another and I realized that we often have a bad habit of thinking that we, or something about us is inferior to the next person. I’m too fat, too skinny, not academic, no gifts or talents, the list goes on, and on, and on.
When are we (including me) going to realize that we will never measure up to the next person. There will always be someone brighter, more academic and better looking than than us. It’s true we are required to measure up, but not to someone else, we are required to measure up to the person God created us to be. How about looking in the mirror today and saying, “Thank you God for making me the way I am, you’ve given me everything I need to be a successful me.”
